Neurosis’ SCOTT KELLY Currently Performing With Hamlet At The Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Scott Kelly (top) and Danforth Comins (Photo Credit: Jenny Graham)

Neurosis’ SCOTT KELLY is currently performing with Hamlet at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The vocalist/guitarist plays the part of one of the Gravediggers, peasants or commoners that use their great wit and intellect to get the better of their superiors, other people of higher social status and each other. In addition to his role as Gravedigger, Kelly remains onstage for much of the performance’s duration playing music that serves as a soundtrack for the entire show and ultimately providing the sonic landscape for Hamlet’s psychological journey.

“This is an adventure for me,” KELLY reveals. “I have never scored a film or a play before and I've always wanted the opportunity to do so. Thanks to my employers of the last sixteen years, I am realizing this dream. Hamlet is an incredible ghost story about the darkest internal process. This production is amazing, the actors are some of the best at their craft in the world, and the director, Lisa Petterson, is nothing short of visionary. My co-collaberator, Paul James Prendergast, is one of my favorite people and it was his idea to bring me into this whole thing. I hope that as many of you who can be here will be here to share in this unique experience."

Hamlet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare sometime between 1599 and 1602. Based in Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet is called to wreak upon his uncle, Claudius, by the ghost of Hamlet's father, King Hamlet. Claudius had murdered his own brother and seized the throne, also marrying his deceased brother's widow. The spectral accusation torments Hamlet’s troubled mind, driving him to avenge a crime that may or may not be a product of his own imagining. Grand in scope, rich in language, this classic story of haunting, both literal and metaphorical, Hamlet is Shakespeare's longest play, and is ranked among the most powerful and influential tragedies in English literature.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is a not-for-profit professional theatre founded in 1935. The season runs from February through early November. OSF has three theatres: two indoor stages, the Angus Bowmer Theatre and the Thomas Theatre, and their flagship outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre where Hamlet takes place. OSF offers eleven different plays that include three or four by Shakespeare and seven by other classic writers, as well as modern and contemporary work and world premieres. The OSF mission statement: "Inspired by Shakespeare's work and the cultural richness of the United States, we reveal our collective humanity through illuminating interpretations of new and classic plays, deepened by the kaleidoscope of rotating repertory."

Hamlet plays twice a week through October 14th (note: KELLY will not appear in performances from Augutst 8th – 22nd as he will be touring Europe with NEUROSIS).

In related news, SCOTT KELLY recently released a three-song EP entitled Push Me On To The Sun available now through My Proud Mountain and currently streaming in full at Cvlt Nation who issues of the poignant offering, “This record is soul music at the highest level, meaning that Scott bares all of his emotion, and that is what makes the songs so powerful. The confidence that he unleashes in his songs make this some of the best happy music clothed in reality you might hear this year. When I hear him sing that he got his teeth kicked in on San Pablo Ave and had a gun put to his head, it’s not just about the violence, but also where he had put himself during that part of his life.”

MIRRORS FOR PSYCHIC WARFARE Featuring Neurosis’ Scott Kelly And Buried At Sea’s Sanford Parker To Release Self-Titled Debut Via Neurot Recordings

Scott Kelly (Neurosis) and producer/engineer/sonic warlord Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea) are restless. This inquietude has culminated in another collaboration. The two work together in Corrections House, a project that also features the talents of Mike IX Williams of Eyehategod, and Bruce Lamont of Yakuza. While Corrections House seem hell-bent on impersonal bludgeon and unfettered terror, the pair’s latest project -- MIRRORS FOR PSYCHIC WARFARE -- is far more restrained.

The band's haunting self-titled debut is the sonic manifestation of insomnia, complete with the tossing, the turning, and the perennial dread that comes with facing another shabby daylight. The five songs lurch and pulsate across a desolate landscape with an almost curious obsessiveness. While Mirrors For Psychic Warfare may remind some of the best work on the classic Cold Meat Industry label, there is enough familiar Kelly/Parker-isms scattered throughout to keep the album stimulating. It is a work with more in common with a fever or a fitful wraith than a record.

Mirrors For Psychic Warfare was realized and recorded by both Kelly and Parker at Actual 13 Studio and Hypercube respectively over the course of 2015. The record was mixed and mastered by Parker and will see release this Spring via Neurot Recordings.

Mirrors For Psychic Warfare Track Listing:

1. Oracles Hex

2. A Thorn To See

3. CNN WTZ

4. I’ll Try You All

5. 43

Further info on Mirrors For Psychic Warfare – including final street date, preorders and track teaser – to be unveiled in the weeks to come. Until then, ache.

NEUROSIS To Enter The Studio; Band Adds Third San Francisco Thirtieth Anniversary Performance And Additional Euro Festival Tour

Passing their three decade mark this month, NEUROSIS has confirmed that the band will be returning to Electrical Audio in Chicago with engineer Steve Albini on December 27th to record their forthcoming brand new LP, their follow up to 2012's Honor Found In Decay. Additional details on the album and its approximate release in 2016 will be revealed in the early months of the year.

NEUROSIS will celebrate their thirty-year milestone with a series of performances where they will deliver a massive two-hour set list, invoking material spanning their entire recorded lineage, from 1987’s Pain Of Mind through 2012’s Honor Found In Decay, with varied set lists at each event. These sets will span the band’s entire career, showcasing the comprehensive evolution, from their primitive beginnings into the seminal, epic outfit of today, as the band’s ever evolving, sonic palette has become a genre-defying template for underground music over the last three decades, avoiding genre classification.

NEUROSIS has added a third show at the Regency Ballroom in their origin of San Francisco in March. The newly-confirmed third show will take place on Sunday, March 6th, at the Regency Ballroom. NEUROSIS has selected special opening acts to open this show, today confirming the participation of longtime Detroit hardcore punk legends, Negative Approach, as well as extremely influential Salem-based punk/metal experimenters, Converge. Tickets for the March 6th show will go on sale January 6th at 10 am PST. The previously announced show March 3rd with support from Sleep and March 4th with support from Shellac have both sold out.
The following month, NEUROSIS will headline two nights at the mighty Roadburn Festival in Holland, April 16th and 17th, again bringing their thirtieth anniversary sets to fans, with those shows led by special solo performances by guitarist/vocalists Scott Kelly and Steve Von Till together on April 15th.

NEUROSIS has also announced an additional set of European tour dates separate from the thirtieth anniversary performances, returning to the European continent for a run of festival performances in August, including Festa Radio Onda D'Urto in Italy, Oya Festival in Norway, Motocultor Festival in France and Amplifest in Portugal.

CHVE (COLIN H VAN EECKHOUT, AMENRA) AND SCOTT KELLY (NEUROSIS) ON TOUR IN EUROPE THIS JANUARY

Belgium's COLIN H VAN EECKHOUT (Church of Ra) and SCOTT KELLY (Neurosis) will be touring Europe together this coming January, marking the first time Kelly has embarked on a solo tour since 2012. Both artists will be performing in very different guises from their respective bands, presenting stripped back and intimate, personal music from their own songbooks. Find all dates below...

CHVE recently released his debut solo album Rasa, available through Consouling Sounds and Tartarus Records (listen through their Bandcamp). Comprised of his voice and the hurdy-gurdy, Rasa is a series of droning, ambient soundscapes that dig deeper than folk, directly into the consciousness of Eeckhout.

Scott Kelly will be releasing two records to coincide with the tour via My Proud Mountain; the Spirit Bound Flesh LP will be available on vinyl for the first time, limited to 400 solid red and 300 black, as well as the arrival of Push Me On To The Sun, containing three brand new songs on a one sided, etched 12“ vinyl.

Scott Kelly says of the upcoming dates: "Getting a chance to come back to Europe is always an honor and it's a place where I have always felt so much support for any artistic project that I have created. I very much look forward to traveling and performing with my brother Colin H van Eeckhout, he and I are like minded in art and values and I believe we will bring a significant show to each town we play. It's been quite a few years of my and Colin's friendship leading up to this moment I feel like the weight of this will be felt. I'm very much looking forward to this experience."

Neurosis’ SCOTT KELLY And Yakuza’s BRUCE LAMONT To Kick Off West Coast Tour Next Week

Following their recent stint along the East Coast, Neurosis’ SCOTT KELLY and Yakuza’s BRUCE LAMONT — also both of CORRECTIONS HOUSE – will bring their sonic experimentations to venues on the Western side of the US. Beginning November 30th, the pair will play eighteen shows in nine cities.

Comments Kelly of their latest expedition, “Bruce and I look forward to continuing our live sound experimentation through the Western States for an eighteen-show run starting November 30th in Chico, California and coming home to Oakland, California on December 17th. We were able to get a good idea of what we can do on our initial twelve performances in the Northeast but I feel like we're just beginning to find the deep vein. Please come out and witness this as it develops into something that will undoubtedly lead us to deeper exploration every night and a project and recordings in the future."

Of their recent performance in Chicago, the Obelisk relayed, “Together KELLY and LAMONT offered renditions of Townes Van Zandt‘s ‘The Rake’ and Neil Young‘s ‘Cortez The Killer,’ before finishing off with the CORRECTIONS HOUSE track ‘Run Through The Night,’ taken from their 2013 debut, Last City Zero. Standing side-by-side, KELLY’s guitar and LAMONT’s sax cast a Morricone-style spell over the room, a hard strum spacious with both adding vocals until LAMONT, having layered backing ‘ooh’s, created a sufficient wash and apex that seemed to swell one voice at a time until appropriately consuming. The studio version of that song gets pretty noisy, but live, it was more melodic, and when KELLY got back on mic to whisper out the last few lines, the multi-layer barrage he cut through made it plain that nothing else would follow…” While The Syracuse Skull Collective commended, “one of those incredibly intimate performances that won’t happen very often.”

SCOTT KELLY (Neurosis, Corrections House) will deliver his patented odes of pain, reflection and redemption with tracks off his solo outings — the bleakly atmospheric Spirit Bound Flesh and starkly minimalist The Wake as well as The Forgiven Ghost In Me album, released in 2012 under the moniker SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME and tunes from the moving Songs Of Townes Van Zandt collection as well as newly recorded numbers to be released next year.

Multi-instrumentalist and vocal sorcerer BRUCE LAMONT (Yakuza, Corrections House, Led Zeppelin 2) has performed/collaborated with an array of artists throughout his storied career. On this run, Lamont will be performing versions of some of the material on his 2011-issued debut solo album Feral Songs For The Epic Decline as well as newer/unreleased material. As with his previous solo outings, LAMONT will be executing multiple instruments and a plethora of vocal styles, with an incredibly layered looping system that culminates into some of the most entrancing live solo artist work one could ask for.

In addition, both KELLY and LAMONT will unite each evening following their respective sets to deafen the masses with renditions of various CORRECTIONS HOUSE hymns. CORRECTIONS HOUSE – which features within its ranks KELLY, LAMONT, Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea), Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod) and recently institutionalized minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury — unleashed their long-awaited sophomore full-length, Know How To Carry A Whip, via Neurot Recordings last month. A nine-track, forty-five-minute exercise in sonic indecency, the record was captured by Parker alongside Fairbury in a subterranean bunker complex in Vietnam and dispels a disconcerting air of danger, paranoia and looming defeat marked by an inexplicable sense of catharsis.

SCOTT KELLY And STEVE VON TILL To Complete The NEUROSIS Experience With Solo Performances At Roadburn 2016

Following recent announcements of NEUROSIS celebrating their 30th anniversary with several live sets in early 2016, including Roadburn Festival, both STEVE VON TILL and SCOTT KELLY have also just confirmed a special night of solo performances at this year’s Roadburn as well.

NEUROSIS is so much more than a band. At times, they seem to be at the heart of a sentient organism, fully functioning all by itself, with the activities of their members and of the entire Neurot family constituting the remaining organs and limbs of this fascinating creature. None of those activities are more deeply connected and wrapped around that ever-beating heart than the solo careers of guitarists/vocalists SCOTT KELLY and STEVE VON TILL themselves. Therefore, it is but natural that the NEUROSIS 30th anniversary celebrations that will take place at Roadburn will also include a typically intimate and profoundly touching solo performance by each of the two musicians.

SCOTT KELLY and STEVE VON TILL will therefore complete the weekend-long NEUROSIS anniversary experience with both performances taking place at the Het Patronaat on Friday, April 15th. Each of them will be a life unto itself that must not be missed.

_______________________________________

Like NEUROSIS themselves, and most of their related other projects, it is not the first time Roadburners will have the immense honor and pleasure to witness these two men alone on a stage pouring their souls out, much more vulnerable and naked than usual, displaying their tremendous courage. Both of them performed solo on the European version of their Beyond The Pale event which enriched the 2009 edition beyond our wildest dreams, and SCOTT KELLY had also played the year before, marking the release of his harrowing second album, The Wake. In these last few years, however, much has happened in artistic terms that will make these concerts an equally fascinating, yet decisively different endeavor. Although he had already released two solo records when he first stepped on his own on the Roadburn stage, the bleakly atmospheric Spirit Bound Flesh and the aforementioned starkly minimalist The Wake, he has since been particularly active as a stage performer outside Neurosis, touring Europe and the United States several times, and often in very good company. The much-praised The Forgiven Ghost In Me album, released in 2012 under the moniker SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME, highlighted the collaborative potential of his solo work, and achieving a rare balance between the intimacy of a solo work and the possibilities afforded by a band effort. Since then, he has frequently played accompanied by THE ROAD HOME, which currently consists of the like-minded cohorts that are fellow NEUROSIS bandmate NOAH LANDIS and "Denver Sound" legend Jay Munly. He has also participated in a few split releases, as well as contributing three songs to the first volume of the Songs Of Townes Van Zandt collection. It is the sum of all these experiences that we will witness at Roadburn when Scott sits down, quietly, with his guitar, and we bet there won't be a dry eye in the room when he bows out at the end.

STEVE VON TILL made us wait a little while for the follow up to his superb 2009 album, A Grave Is A Grim Horse, only giving us three songs on that same Songs Of Townes Van Zandt collection in the meantime to stave off the hunger, but every second of wait was worth it when we finally got to hear A Life Unto Itself. Right now, it still resonates deeply within us as much as it did when it was released last May, if not more so – its sparse and starkly elegant mixture of Americana, ancient folk music and psychedelia constantly leaving us pleasantly lost in some figurative deep dark wood. It has the sobriety, the earthy mysticism, the emotional evocative power and same spiritual connection to nature and to forgotten, ancient times his two first albums did, As The Crow Flies from 2000 and If I Should Fall To The Field from 2002, but it's also brimming with surprising electric subtleties which were first explored on A Grave Is A Grim Horse. If we add to this the fact that, alongside his solo work under his own name, STEVE VON TILL also maintains activity as HARVESTMAN, his home-recorded, psychedelic improvised project which he has released three amazing, mind-altering records with (one of them, Trinity, a very appropriate soundtrack to an Italian horror film), and from which he often performs a few pieces during his solo shows, we can expect a varied, dynamic performance, where the flow of continuity is assured by the man’s unmistakable vocal and guitar personality.

Mirrors for Psychic Warfare is Scott Kelly (founding member of Neurosis, Corrections House, Shrinebuilder, The Road Home, Blood Caldera, River Of Madness, Tribes Of Neurot, and co-owner of Neurot Recordings) and Sanford Parker (Minsk, Buried at Sea, Nachtmystium).

Sanford Parker is a producer, recording engineer and musician from Chicago, IL. Sanford is known from bands like Minsk, Twilight and Nachtmystium and nowadays is part of Corrections House and Buried at Sea. As an engineer he worked for bands like Eyehategod, Woven Hand and Voivod over the last two years - just to name a few.

Scott Kelly about the new project:
Mirrors for Psychic Warfare is an experiment in noise, silence, restraint and aggression in all shapes and forms. The concept will be first performed to a live audience in late February-early March of 2015 on European soil. There will be a 7" record "The Oracles Hex" released by My Proud Mountain to coincide with this tour. I am very much looking forward to the open minds that will allow this in.”

Sanford Parker will also support the show with his solo project Two from the Eye
"Two from the Eye is a visceral blend of heavy rhythms, atmospheric drones and dense psychedelic layers. Debuting live in Europe this spring with an album currently in the works. This music is written with a soul crushing intent.“

THE ROAD HOME: Scott Kelly Solo Venture Takes New Form With Full-Time Members Noah Landis And J Munly; West Coast Tour Dates Begin Next Week

With the addition of new full-time members, the project forged as SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME — orchestrated by Neurosis’ founding guitarist/vocalist, Scott Kelly — has since taken a new form as simply, THE ROAD HOME.

Neurosis’ keyboard/effects wizard, Noah Landis, has been a part of the project since the creation of SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME’s 2012-released debut album, The Forgiven Ghost In Me, providing baritone guitars and keyboards to the record and on stage. Yet, since his role in the outfit has become much more expansive and significant, in both inception and delivery of the tunes, his place in the lineup has therefore become more permanent. Additionally, renowned singer/songwriter Munly J Munly has joined the group in recent months, helping reshape the band’s sound. An iconic folk/country/gospel multi-instrumentalist who has helped shape the contemporary sound of Denver, Munly is part of several current acts, including his own Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots, as well as Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Denver Broncos UK and others, with releases on Smooch Records, Alternative Tentacles and more, in addition to being an awarded author, and so on.

Issues Kelly of the current state of THE ROAD HOME, “We changed the name because with the addition of Munly and Noah's already prominent role in the process it felt that this had become a band of absolutely equal parts in every way. We will be working on new material throughout the year in preparation for a new record.”
As their next recorded chapter comes together, THE ROAD HOME’s new lineup will be playing live whenever possible, beginning with a newly-confirmed Western US tour which begins next week. From Thursday, January 22rd through Wednesday, February 4th, they will traverse through California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho and Washington with twelve dates confirmed.

Additional tour and release news on THE ROAD HOME will be confirmed and announced in the months ahead.

Neurot Recordings released SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME’s debut outing, The Forgiven Ghost In Me, in August 2012. Dissimilar to his previously-released solo outings, on this recording Kelly sought out additional musicians to help bring his written vision to fruition, recruiting the talents of Greg Dale and Noah Landis, as well as guest contributions from Jason Roeder (Neurosis, Sleep) and Josh Graham (A Storm Of Light, ex-Neurosis). The Forgiven Ghost In Me, flows with over forty minutes of foreboding Americana showcasing the ever-evolving artist brandishing some of Kelly’s most expressive hymns of pain, reflection and redemption to date.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE Minister Of Propaganda, Seward Fairbury, MISSING! Band Marches On To Roskilde Festival

CORRECTIONS HOUSE minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury, has turned up missing from his place of residence this week in California after an apparently violent confrontation within his home. CORRECTIONS HOUSE member, Scott Kelly said, “The last time I had any contact with Seward was ten weeks ago; it’s not uncommon to not see him for weeks at a time, but he always keeps us in the loop with a postcard or a phone call about once a month. We went by his trailer and it was completely trashed; it looked like there had been a serious disturbance. If you’ve ever met Seward, you know he’s mean as fuck and he isn’t gonna go anywhere he doesn’t want too. We’re reaching out through our connections and through Seward’s extensive family and trying to figure out what is going on.” The Lake Co. Sheriff’s office has issued a simple but ominous statement saying that the matter is under investigation but that they expect no cooperation from the Fairbury family, from his friends, or his neighbors in the the matter whatsoever.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE will soldier on without Fairbury, and continue to do work. They are releasing a live record due out this Fall entitled Writing History In Advance through War Crime Recordings, will continue to work on their next full length due out in early 2015 and will appear at the Roskilde Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark this Friday, July 4th. Additionally, the band will support Sleep for two nights in Chicago on August 28th and 29th at Thalia Hall.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE — the bastard sound manipulations of Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Sanford Parker (Minsk) and their minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury — is a meeting of minds and ideologies that sees all four members incorporating their obvious individual talents and voices but simultaneously carving paths away from the sounds for which they are usually known. On most recent full-length, Last City Zero released last year via Neurot Recordings, they traverse tectonic plate-shifting doom and the downcast gloom of Kelly’s usual ouevre into mutated industrial hissing and clanging EBM beats from Parker, squalls and drones of oblique saxophone from Lamont and Williams’ familiar phlegm-drenched fire-spitting ire and all points in-between.

“Featuring dark, depressing atmospheres and exceptionally negative, apocalyptic vibes, Last City Zero is brooding, raw and corrosive, as well as breathtakingly beautiful…” – Exclaim

CORRECTIONS HOUSE: Album Details Revealed

Recent Neurot Recordings signees CORRECTIONS HOUSE—Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Sanford Parker (Minsk) and their minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury—will release their debut full-length this Fall. Titled Last City Zero, the eight-track, near 50-minute offering was produced by Sanford Parker at Electrical Audio, Soma Studios, 60 Psycho Hum and Nodferatu’s Lair and delivers a wholly cerebral, impossible-to-pinpoint kaleidoscopic synthesis of mechanical decomposition, atmospheric abnormalities, and poetic putrefaction.
Last City Zero Track Listing:
1. Serve or Survive
2. Bullets and Graves
3. Party Leg and Three Fingers
4. Run Through the Night
5. Dirt Poor and Mentally Ill
6. Hallows of the Stream
7. Last City Zero
8. Drapes Hung by Jesus
A mysterious cooperative of lost souls, forged unwittingly by the impetuous forces of nature and altered states of consciousness, CORRECTIONS HOUSE is without control of their destiny. Boundless in their genre voyage, CORRECTIONS HOUSE embrace the unkind, the diseased, the forgotten, the morose, their lush anti-soundscrapes and shadowy verses — at once beautifully hideous, graceful and terrifying — a manifestation of societal ruin and psychological decay. The transformation of time and space; death begetting life and veils being torn; an imposing dissonance too penetrating to dismiss… CORRECTIONS HOUSE systematically create and destroy through audio disease and transcendent musical deconstruction. All things in all ways. There is nothing else.

Last City Zero will be released in North America on October 29, 2013 and in Europe on October 28, 2013 via Neurot Recordings.

An impossible-to-pinpoint synthesis of mechanical decomposition, atmospheric abnormalities and poetic putrefaction, together CORRECTIONS HOUSE systematically create and destroy.

Following a special run of live rituals in January, which Invisible Oranges appropriately crowned both “…unique and devastating…,” CORRECTIONS HOUSE unleashed the Hoax The System/Grin With a Purpose 7” through War Crime Recordings in the US and Burning World Records in Europe, earning critical accolades from adventurous listeners.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE will release their debut full length this Fall via Neurot Recordings. Further info to be announced in the coming weeks. Until then, suffer.

SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME: West Coast Tour Begins Today

While NEUROSIS continues to dominate massive venues in support of their acclaimed tenth studio endeavor, Honor Found In Decay, founding guitarist/vocalist SCOTT KELLY has been touring smaller clubs with his more personal solo material amidst the shows. In addition to his recent American performances as part of CORRECTIONS HOUSE, and recent tours stateside and in Europe as SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME, the latter act will perform a new string of West Coast shows beginning today.

At the firs of the dozen newly confirmed gigs, SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME will perform this Thursday, February 28th on NEUROSIS’ native soil in Oakland, alongside Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) as well as a screening of the DIY record industry film Blood, Sweat & Vinyl. Performances in Santa Cruz, Freson, Santa Ana, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Boise, Spokane, Bellingham, Vancouver, Seattle and Portland will follow.

Dissimilar to his previous solo outings, KELLY sought out additional musicians to help create his latest musical vision, recruiting good friends Greg Dale and Noah Landis (Neurosis), forming SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME. The first album by this trio, The Forgiven Ghost In Me, flows with over forty minutes of foreboding Americana showcasing the ever-evolving artist brandishing some of his most expressive hymns of pain, reflection and redemption to date also features guest contributions from Jason Roeder (Neurosis, Sleep) and Josh Graham (A Storm Of Light, ex-Neurosis).

Stream the title track to The Forgiven Ghost In Me via Decibel RIGHT HERE, and watch the official and video for the album’s somber “The Sun Is Dreaming In The Soul” and more AT THIS LOCATION.

"The trio keeps the vibe slow, stark and intimate throughout, with Kelly's acoustic guitar and weathered voice front and center. He wields the latter like a favorite stiletto... 8/10" - Decibel

"With raw, organic production letting you feel that Kelly and co-conspirators Noah Landis and Greg Dale are in the same room as you - if not actually taking residence somewhere inside your head - the is something achingly frank and grittily real about every note... 9/10" - Outburn

"Kelly’s solo work is no less ominous or atmospheric than his regular gig. He sounds like an apocalyptic troubadour playing in a dusty cowboy bar at the end of the world." - The Onion's A.V. Club

"The Forgiven Ghost in Me does well to move beyond some of the Townes van Zandt-ery of Kelly’s prior solo work – especially that one where, you know, he covered those Townes van Zandt songs – and somehow it makes sense that with the input of the others who appear here, Kelly should wind up with his most human and individualized outing yet." - The Obelisk
