CORRECTIONS HOUSE Prepares For US Assault; Neil Young Cover Streaming At Noisey

CORRECTIONS HOUSE is packing up their munitions in preparation for their imminent, near three-week live assault on the US. Scheduled to commence on November 30th in Boston, Massachusetts, the legion will raze nineteen megalopolises, with the overthrow coming to a halt on December 20th in Portland, Oregon.

Proclaims recently institutionalized minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury: CORRECTIONS HOUSE will bring their truncheon down on your head repeatedly until you submit or vacate the premises. This band has grown into a force since their initial trek through the landscape known as the United States of Unamerican activities. They will bludgeon you with no apology. Test us.”

In conjunction with the tour, CORRECTIONS HOUSE will release Writing History In Advance, a debaucherous testament of audio decomposition recorded live in Los Angeles earlier this year. The release will come available in a CD digipack via War Crime Recordings December 1st, 2014 and is currently available for pre-order here.

In the meantime, check out a rare, non-album exclusive cover of Neil Young classic “Cortez The Killer,” currently streaming at Noisey RIGHT HERE.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE features Fairbury alongside sound conspirators Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and Sanford Parker (Minsk). The collective released their Last City Zero debut full-length via Neurot Recordings last year. Produced by Parker at Electrical Audio, Soma Studios, 60 Psycho Hum and Nodferatu’s Lair, Last City Zero is the audio end product of government conspiracies, societal ruin and psychological decay.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE recently put the finishing touches on their forthcoming new full-length, set for release sometime in 2015. Further info to be revealed as it develops. Until then, writhe.

“Whether it’s Mike IX Williams’ grim spoken word poetry or Scott’s coarse, monotone groan overlaying the clangorous soundscapes, it’s the utter bleakness that binds.” – Meta Hammer

IDES OF GEMINI: Cryptic “Seer Of Circassia” Video Now Playing At Noisey; Old World New Wave Out Now Via Neurot Recordings

Old World New Wave is the latest long player from West Coast shadowy sound conjurors, IDES OF GEMINI. Released in September via Neurot Recordings, the follow-up to the band’s critically-laudedConstantinople debut was recorded at Valley Recording in Burbank, California, engineered and mixed by Chris Rakestraw (Danzig), mastered by Grammy award winning producer Matt Hyde (Slayer) and offers up nine tracks of dark, mesmerizing soundscrapes.

In celebration of its release, today Vice’s music gateway, Noisey,  reveals the occult conjurings of their erotic Daciana Birladeanu-directed “Seer Of Circassia” video. Elaborates singer/bassist Sera Timms, “The concept of the album traces the symbolic-psychological breakdown of a character over ten days [‘Seer Of Circassia’ takes place on day four]. We're working within the structures of psycho-spiritual alchemical transformation, utilizing Carl Jung's school of analytical psychology. Essentially we have a story of the psychological conflict of opposing forces -- yin-yang, male/female/dark light, etc. -- each driven by desire. The masculine archetype in this story desires control and structure, while the feminine archetype desires recognition and equality as it has been repressed in the ‘Old World.’ Our protagonist is the Emperor, based creatively on the last Emperor of Constantinople, who represents the ego, masculine, solar consciousness along with control, structure, domination, force and power.

in-depth interview with guitarist J. Bennett at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, check out a detailed Old World New Wave track-by-track breakdown at Revolver Magazine HERE.

IDES OF GEMINI is Timms, also of West Coast dark-psych conjurors Black Mare, alongside guitarist Jason Bennett and drummer Kelly Johnston-Gibson. The band will bring their sonic séance to the stage next month playing Intronaut’s tenth anniversary show with additional IDES ceremonies to be announced in the coming weeks.

“[IDES OF GEMINI are] about to put out a new album called Old World New Wave and there’s enough droney doom on it to make you feel like you’re stuck in David Lynch’s dreams.” – Noisey

“..an enjoyable dream-doom filled sonic journey from start to finish.” – Bearded Gentlemen Music

“IDES OF GEMINI has a knack for atmosphere, for creating a world of sound and inviting the listener in. Their music has the feel of a classic horror film: all psychology, no fake blood or cheap startles. If there’s a goth revival afoot in metal culture -- and, given last year’s releases by In Solitude, Beastmilk and others, there’s certainly an argument to be made for that -- then IDES OF GEMINI is among its most evocative front-runners.” – Invisible Oranges

NEUROSIS Announces Trio Of Year-End California Performances

NEUROSIS has just confirmed three more shows for 2014, set to take place during the final days of the year in California. While the members of NEUROSIS currently reside in numerous areas of the country, the Bay Area will forever remain the land of the band's origin, and to commemorate one of their most active years performing abroad in their nearly three decades in existence, they'll unite for a trio of concerts including two shows back where it all began.

The first of the year-end live run will see NEUROSIS playing at The Observatory in Orange County's Santa Ana on Monday, December 29th. The next two evenings — Tuesday, December 30th and Wednesday the 31st —  will see the band back in their native Bay Area lands, with two consecutive shows at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Supporting NEUROSIS on all three of these headlining shows will be an incredibly diverse and destructive lineup, including Portland's morose d-beat hardcore icons, Tragedy, San Diego-based industrial drone man/machine act, Author & Punisher, and San Francisco's sludge/noise rock outfit, Kowloon Walled City.

5/24/2015 Maryland Deathfest - Baltimore, MD w/ Amorphis, Anaal Nathrakh, Goatsnake, Primordial, more [info]

The newly-announced trio of performances comes as NEUROSIS continues their massive 2014 live campaign, as the band has just conquered the Housecore Horror Film Fest in Austin, Texas, as well as Southwest Terror Fest III in Tucson, Arizona, and next week will headline the second annual Bestia Festival in Mexico City, Mexico. The five-day gala, set to run from November 19th to the 23rd, will include performances from The Ex, Monogatari, (SIC), Han Bennink, Terrie Ex, Marc Ribot, Ray Anderson, Bob Stewart and others confirmed, in addition to music workshops, film screenings and more will fill the festival grounds. Additional NEUROSIS concerts for 2015 are aligning, including the band's return to Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore alongside fellow Neurot acts Ufomammut and Yob, where NEUROSIS plays on Sunday, May 24th with Amorphis, Anaal Nathrakh, Demilich, Goatsnake, Inverloch, Primordial, Winter, Tombs and more.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE released their Last City Zero debut full-length via Neurot Recordings last year.Produced by Parker at Electrical Audio, Soma Studios, 60 Psycho Hum and Nodferatu’s Lair, Last City Zero is the audio end product of government conspiracies, societal ruin and psychological decay. Traveling far beyond the traditional confines of any one specific genre, Last City Zero is at once beautifully hideous, graceful and terrifying and continues to raise the brows of exploratory fans and critics globally. Said About.com, “On Last City Zero, CORRECTIONS HOUSE survey the world with a bleak outlook, as much with scorn as sadness. The industrial/mechanical side feels indicative of how the soul is being ripped from the chest of society, whereas the cleaner side represents the need to hold on to our own individuality. The angry screams voice the fight to maintain what is ours and to retake what has been taken, and the spoken voices of reason and honesty instill reflectiveness and a lack of ignorance…,” Exclaim gushed, “Last City Zero is brooding, raw and corrosive, as well as breathtakingly beautiful,” while Crave agreed, “CORRECTIONS HOUSE have created something wholly original, incredibly touching, and most likely alienating. Bravo gentlemen, bravo.” Added Metal Hammer, “Whether it’s Mike IX Williams’ grim spoken word poetry or Scott’s coarse, monotone groan overlaying the clangorous soundscapes, it’s the utter bleakness that binds.”

CORRECTIONS HOUSE recently put the finishing touches on their forthcoming new full-length, set for release sometime in 2015. In the meantime, check out a live version of (half of) CORRECTIONS HOUSE’s cover of Neil Young’s “Cortez The Killer” from Roadburn at THIS LOCATION:
