CORRECTIONS HOUSE To Unleash Know How To Carry A Whip Full-Length This October Via Neurot Recordings; Artwork + Track Listing Undraped

“Who made Hell… Hell made Who…” – “I Was Never Good At Meth,”
CORRECTIONS HOUSE

CORRECTIONS HOUSE will unleash their long-anticipated, sophomore full-length, Know How To Carry A Whip, this October via Neurot Recordings. Darker, denser, and more despairing than their 2013-issued Last City Zero predecessor, the nine-track, forty-five-minute audio apocalypse was captured by the band’s own Sanford Parker (Minsk) and recently institutionalized minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury, in Vietnam. The record boasts a guest appearance by Negative Soldier and finds CORRECTIONS HOUSE – which features the fiery lineup of Parker, Fairbury, Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod) -- at their most punishing, painting electronic mosaics of deviance and decadence with brushes made of bristles of the damned.

Immersed in experiences of longing and loneliness from the depths of their collectively decaying hearts, each movement contained within CORRECTIONS HOUSE’s Know How To Carry A Whip reveals a new, unsettling sentiment of danger, paranoia and looming defeat. An underlying theme of confinement and release bridges each track. Atmospheric and haunting; hypnotic and pulsing, songs writhe and wither, decay and peel. Distorted, doomed and oft static sodden, discordant and tribal, twined around Williams’ unassailable manic street preacher prose and intermittently juxtaposed by the smooth, cradling sounds of Lamont’s lingering saxophone, Know How To Carry A Whip is at once bleak, grey, glacially devastating and metaphysically cathartic. “The music is simultaneously suffocating and freeing,” expounds Kelly, “but it also has the energy of a whirling dervish.”

In a rare, lucid skype transmission from the mental facility in which he currently resides. Fairbury further elaborates of the production, “the songs typically originate from the loops and beats that are generated from Sanford, then the skeleton of riffs are built by Scott and Bruce. Mike IX adds his profound observations and I do the final production. These new songs are far more developed and fluid then the first record. There is a prevailing groove that dominates.” (Fairbury, who was missing briefly last year, obsessed with seeking clarity and understanding beyond Who, What and Why we are to ultimately expose The Truth, continues his downward spiral towards madness and despair. Allegedly plotting an elaborate escape, Fairbury plans to rejoin CORRECTIONS HOUSE in their systematic propagation of auditory abuse later this year.)

Know How To Carry A Whip Track Listing:
1. Crossing My One Good Finger
2. Superglued Tooth
3. White Man’s Gonna Lose
4. Hopeless Moronic
5. Visions Divide
6. The Hall Of Cost
7. When Push Comes To Shank
8. I Was Never Good At Meth
9. Burn The Witness

CORRECTIONS HOUSE methodically creates and destroy through sonic disease and transcendent musical deconstruction. All things in all ways. There is nothing else. Know How To Carry A Whip will be released worldwide on October 23rd, 2015 via Neurot Recordings.

YOB‘s live show is everything you’d want from a power trio. From frenetic riffs and furious drumming to slow, crushing doom, a YOB gig is less a performance and more a communal brain-fuck. They hold their audience transfixed with brief moments of brooding, atmospheric, almost ambient respite, before pulverizing them with a massive, brutal crush of noise. The band will be touring in support of their universally-adored Clearing The Path To Ascend full-length, released early last Fall via Neurot Recordings. Recorded at Gung Ho Studio in Eugene alongside longtime YOB comrade/iconic sound wizard, Billy Barnett and mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Beastmilk, Nails) at Audiosiege, Clearing The Path To Ascend topped Rolling Stone’s 2014 list of the best metal albums and was praised by countless media outlets from Pitchfork to The New York Times. Never before has doom metal been at the forefront of the public consciousness, and it’s easy to see why: though it’s come almost two decades into their existence, YOB have created not just the best album of their career – they’ve made what will come to be regarded as one of the defining records in the pantheon of doom metal.

YOB’s Clearing The Path To Ascend is available now via Neurot Recordings HERE.

YOB might be one of the best bands in North America.” – The New York Times

“Psychedelic rock, stoner rock, stoner metal, blues metal, ambient: all reside comfortably in YOB‘s wheelhouse, coalescing and collapsing on a path that stretches as far as the listener’s imagination.” – Pitchfork

“The seventh album from Oregon doom metal sky-gazers, YOB … makes perfect bedfellows of volume and beauty, pain and transcendence.” – Rolling Stone

“Mike Scheidt’s songwriting has never been stronger or more dynamic… a masterful return to form by an American doom powerhouse.” – Decibel

“Clearing The Path To Ascend is YOB at their most frenzied (‘Nothing To Win’) as well as their gentlest (‘Marrow’), but taken as whole, its four songs feel like the seasons or the elements: powerful, eternal, wondrous, and bigger than all of us.” – Stereogum

“An absolute monument of musicianship, songcraft, and raw emotion…” -- Free Williamsburg

“All dreams must end-but by extension, so must all nightmares. On Clearing The Path To Ascend, YOB has beautifully, brutally conjured a bit of both.” – The A.V. Club

DARK BUDDHA RISING: New Psalm From Finnish Psychedelic Doom Practitioners Playing At Decibel; Inversum Preorder Bundles Now Available

Inversum is the forthcoming new full-length from Finnish psychedelic doom practitioners, DARK BUDDHA RISING. Their fifth studio offering and first under the Neurot Recordings banner, Inversum is a two-track exercise in the black arts of psychedelia, swallowing its listeners whole into a tense, brooding realm of dark atmospheres, harrowing mysticism, tormented howls and slow, ominous riff protrusions. Considered the opening of the Third Cycle Of DARK BUDDHA RISING, the record was recorded, produced and mixed by the band in the bowels of the Wastement, the self-proclaimed “asylum of eternal feedback,” and welcomes the addition of new DARK BUDDHA RISING recruits, V. Vatanen (guitar, vocals), J. Saarivuori (keyboards) and M. Neuman (vocals).

As a precursor to its release next month, today Decibel Magazine offers up an edited version of opening psalm, “E S O.” Comments the band of the sonic enormity at hand, “‘E S O’ is the inner process of Inversum, a personal voyage into the eternal current of existence."

Sacrifice yourself to the powers of “E S O” at THIS LOCATION.

As the dust of centuries has settled on pages unwritten, the gates are opened only within. In ascension rites of introvert spirits, the signature of passing flesh is inscribed in the memorial garden as a note of entrance. Succeeding this initiation, all levels are accessible through death transpired as severance of the flesh and the spirit immortal.

As the remnants of flesh dance to the endless pulses of the multiverse, the underlying directives in biorhythms to which these pulses are synchronized (from ego to the universe on the left hand and no ego in the void beneath the veil) and to be followed like a call of nature. Nature withholds the void that exists to the unaided eye of the celestials, and the rhythms transpire as keys.

As the innerspace traveler is aligned with the order of the nine, disarray in the processes is suddenly reversible, and the liberated shall walk the brightened path that is not treaded afoot. This is DARK BUDDHA RISING.

Inversum will be unveiled worldwide on CD and LP September 25, 2015 via Neurot Recordings.

NEUROSIS: 30th Anniversary Shows In San Francisco & Roadburn Announced; Through Silver In Blood And Times Of Grace Vinyl Reissues Confirmed

NEUROSIS has just announced the band’s plans to celebrate three full decades together with their fans on two continents in early 2016, including shows in their native Bay Area and at Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands. Additionally, the band will release deluxe vinyl reissues of two of their most revered and long out-of-print titles; Through Silver In Blood and Times Of Grace.

As the band passes the thirty-year mark this Winter, NEUROSIS will celebrate this milestone with two stateside performances on March 4th and 5th at the Regency Ballroom, and then two more sets on April 16th and 17th headlining the massive Roadburn. At these four very special performances, the band will deliver material spanning their entire recorded lineage, from 1987’s Pain Of Mind through 2012’s Honor Found In Decay, with varied set lists at each event. These sets will span the band's entire career, showcasing NEUROSIS’ comprehensive evolution from their primitive beginnings to the seminal, epic outfit they are today, as the band’s ever evolving, sonic palette has become a template for underground music over the last three decades, and resist genre classification.

Additionally, NEUROSIS will have two of their most revered and long out-of-print titles reissued on super deluxe 180-gram double vinyl this Fall. Through Silver in Blood (1996), which Fact Magazine recently deemed the #1 best post-metal album of all time, has not been printed on vinyl in ten years, while Times Of Grace (1999) is seeing its first pressing in over fifteen years. Additionally, Grace, the 1999 TRIBES OF NEUROT companion piece to Times Of Grace, will also see a deluxe reissue, its first time ever on vinyl. Each reissue will contain reinterpretations of the original iconic artwork, will be housed in heavy duty “tip-on” jackets, and will be available in a variety of limited edition exclusive colors. The reissues are set for worldwide release on September 4th and will also include full album digital download codes.

Preorders for the reissues are now available directly through Neurosis’ own Neurot Recordings at THIS LOCATION.

NEUROSIS is currently on tour in North America, embarked on their most massive North American tour since before the turn of the millennium. Having begun on July 31st, the band crosses into Canada today for two shows — Toronto this evening, and the massive Montréal Festival where they’ll join the likes of Mastodon, Meshuggah, Gorguts and many others on Friday — followed by shows in Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Richmond, Carrboro, Atlanta and New Orleans before coming to a smoldering finale in Houston on August 16th. The band is playing in cities and states which they have not visited since the 1990s during the trek, which sees NEUROSIS supported by labelmates Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth (featuring Tad Doyle of TAD and Hog Molly) for the entire trek, with additional legs of the tour also featuring The Body, Sumac, Pinkish Black and labelmates Iron Tongue.
