Neurosis’ SCOTT KELLY And Yakuza’s BRUCE LAMONT Join Forces For November Tour Run

Neurosis’ SCOTT KELLY and Yakuza’s BRUCE LAMONT will join forces later this Fall for a special stretch of US live dates. Set to commence November 10th in Detroit, Michigan, the pair will traverse twelves cities, with the trek coming to a close on November 21st in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Both Kelly and Lamont will be performing material from their respective solo projects as well as tunes from CORRECTIONS HOUSE.

SCOTT KELLY/BRUCE LAMONT:

11/10/2015 Majestic Café – Detroit, MI
11/11/2015 Drawing Room @ Chicago Athletic Club – Chicago, IL
11/12/2015 Double Happiness – Columbus, OH
11/13/2015 The Acheron – Brooklyn, NY
11/14/2015 Gorman Bros. Music – Syracuse, NY
11/15/2015 Middle East (upstairs) – Boston, MA
11/16/2015 Kung Fu Necktie (late show) – Philadelphia, PA
11/18/2015 Ottobar- Baltimore, MD
11/19/2015 The Funhouse - Jersey City, NJ
11/20/2015 Alternative Gallery – Allentown, PA
11/21/2015 Smiling Moose (late show) – Pittsburgh, PA

SCOTT KELLY (Neurosis, Corrections House) will deliver his signature hymns of pain, reflection and redemption with tracks off his solo outings -- the bleakly atmospheric Spirit Bound Flesh solo and starkly minimalist The Wake as well as The Forgiven Ghost In Me album, released in 2012 under the moniker SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME and tunes from the moving Songs Of Townes Van Zandt collection as well as newly recorded numbers to be released next year. With a sound that’s at once soulful, morose and healing few artists can manifest with such devout sincerity, when KELLY sits quietly, with his guitar, there’s rarely a dry eye in the room when he bows out at the end.

Multi-instrumentalist and vocal sorcerer BRUCE LAMONT (Yakuza, Corrections House, Led Zeppelin 2) has performed/collaborated with an array of artists throughout his storied career. On this run, Lamont will be performing versions of some of the material on his 2011-issued debut solo album Feral Songs For The Epic Decline as well as newer/unreleased material. As with his previous solo, LAMONT will be executing multiple instruments and a plethora of vocal styles, with an incredibly layered looping system that culminates into some of the most entrancing live solo artist work one could ask for.

In addition, both KELLY and LAMONT will unite each evening following their respective sets to deafen the masses with renditions of various CORRECTIONS HOUSE hymns. CORRECTIONS HOUSE – which features within its ranks Kelly, Lamont, Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea), Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod) and recently institutionalized minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury -- will issue their long-awaited sophomore full-length, Know How To Carry A Whip, this Friday via Neurot Recordings. A nine-track, forty-five-minute exercise in sonic indecency, the record was captured by Parker alongside Fairbury in a subterranean bunker complex in Vietnam and dispels a disconcerting air of danger, paranoia and looming defeat marked by an inexplicable sense of catharsis.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE : Know How To Carry A Whip - CD, LP, Digital & T-Shirt Bundles Available Now!!

Release Date: October 23rd, 2015

Know How To Carry A Whip is the imminent new studio offering from industrialized volume abusers, CORRECTIONS HOUSE. A nine-track, forty-five-minute exercise in sonic indecency, the record was captured by the band’s own Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea) alongside recently institutionalized minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury, in a subterranean bunker complex in Vietnam.

Deeper, darker, and far more fluid than 2013’s critically-adored Last City Zero debut, CORRECTIONS HOUSE’s Know How To Carry A Whip is unapologetic in its audio trauma. Featuring a guest appearance by Negative Soldier, the record finds the band — Sanford Parker, Fairbury, Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod) — at their most arduous. Immersed in experiences of longing and loneliness from the depths of their collectively putrefying hearts, each movement contained within Know How To Carry A Whip discloses a new, disconcerting air of danger, paranoia and looming defeat marked by an inexplicable sense of catharsis.

Suffocating yet stimulating, oft static sodden, discordant and tribal, all twined around Williams’ unassailable manic street preacher verses and intermittently juxtaposed by the smooth, cradling sounds of Lamont’s lingering saxophone, Know How To Carry A Whip remains rhythmic and hypnotic throughout, with grooves that dominate and penetrate.

Already deemed a maniacal masterwork, Exclaim hails a release that's, "even more ominous, nihilistic and dismal," than it's predecessor, further championing its, "complex array of anxiety-inducing electronic effects," and vocalist Mike IX Williams', "poetic, despairing vocals." Decibel Magazine celebrates the band's "sharpened focus," noting, "CORRECTIONS HOUSE build mechanical aggrotech sludge from the blood and muck shoved into the gutter by Godflesh's Steetcleaner." Elaborates Drowned In Sound, "I want to stand behind artists that are restless, who thrive on creation, and who do not fear where their muses might lead. Such is what I hear on Know How... visions, induced by cold sweats; nights awake with Einsturzende Neubauten throbbing in headphones; the external appearance of terror (i.e. the ski masks in their videos), driven by the internal desire to evoke a reaction beyond indifference." Echoes And Dust calls the record, "...a shining example of a metal and industrial fused record, one that successfully fuels the undeniable fact that the artists behind CORRECTIONS HOUSE still stand as the most creative and influential individuals in the genre." Skulls 'N' Bones notes, "Know How To Carry A Whip is brilliantly bleak and depressing; a modern day exorcism delivered through rage and noise that feels just right." While Metal Nexus lauds an, "ambient-propelled, noise-tinged discordance that uses tribal drum patterning, saxophones, and other transcendental audio techniques to hypnotize listeners while the manic apocalyptic ramblings of Mike IX assail their fears and inhibitions."

Know How To Carry A Whip is now available worldwide from Neurot Recordings. CD, LP, Digital & Bundles are available at THIS LOCATION.

“This group is so super, every damn letter should be in caps.” -- Decibel

Tomorrow marks the official detonation date of Know How To Carry A Whip, the second full-length endeavor from industrialized volume abusers CORRECTIONS HOUSE. A nine-track, forty-five-minute exercise in audio acrimony, the record was captured by the band’s own Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea) alongside recently institutionalized minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury, in a subterranean bunker complex in Vietnam.

Already deemed a maniacal masterwork, Exclaim hails a release that’s, “even more ominous, nihilistic and dismal,” than it’s predecessor, further championing its, “complex array of anxiety-inducing electronic effects,” and vocalist Mike IX Williams’, “poetic, despairing vocals.” Decibel Magazine celebrates the band’s “sharpened focus,” noting, “CORRECTIONS HOUSE build mechanical aggrotech sludge from the blood and muck shoved into the gutter by Godflesh’s Steetcleaner.” Elaborates Drowned In Sound, “I want to stand behind artists that are restless, who thrive on creation, and who do not fear where their muses might lead. YOB: North American Headlining Tour With Black Cobra To Commence This Week; Band Added To Sabertooth Fest 2016

YOB might be one of the best bands in North America.” – The New York Times

Long-running, psychedelic doom conjurers, YOB, are readying to kick off a near month-long North American headlining tour with support from San Francisco riff peddlers, Black Cobra. Set to kick off on October 22nd in Boise, Idaho and run through November 21st in Oakland, California, the trio will conquer the stages of over two dozen venues including a special performance at this year’s edition of Philip H. Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Fest in San Antonio, Texas. As an added bonus and in celebration of the record’s ten-year anniversary, fans attending the November 5th show at Bell House in Brooklyn, New York will pay witness to the band’s performance of 2005's mammoth The Unreal Never Lived album in its rumbling entirety.

Additionally, YOB will appear at Sabertooth Fest 2016 in February in Portland, Oregon which includes the likes of Super Furry Animals, Earth, King Black Acid, Red Fang, Witch Mountain, Eternal Tapestry, Built To Spill, Mikal Cronin with Emmett Kelly, Fresh & Onlys and Snakes!

Comments vocalist/guitarist Mike Scheidt, "[Drummer] Travis [Foster], [bassist] Aaron [Rieseberg] and I are really excited about this tour. Not only do we get to share the stage every night with our good friends and excellent tour mates Jason, Rafa and Black Cobra, but we get to travel the country again and rock with quite a few amazing bands and see our friends around the US. Black Cobra and YOB have been talking about touring together for the better part of a decade, and now it's happening! We can't wait."

YOB continues to tour in support of their universally-adored Clearing The Path To Ascend full-length, released early last Fall via Neurot Recordings. Recorded at Gung Ho Studio in Eugene alongside longtime YOB comrade/iconic sound wizard, Billy Barnett, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Beastmilk, Nails) at Audiosiege, Clearing The Path To Ascend topped Rolling Stone’s 2014 list of the best metal albums and was praised by countless media outlets from Pitchfork to The New York Times. Never before has doom metal been at the forefront of the public consciousness, and it’s easy to see why: though it’s come almost two decades into their existence, YOB have created not just the best album of their career – they’ve manifested what will come to be regarded as one of the defining records in the pantheon of doom metal.

“Psychedelic rock, stoner rock, stoner metal, blues metal, ambient: all reside comfortably in YOB‘s wheelhouse, coalescing and collapsing on a path that stretches as far as the listener’s imagination.” – Pitchfork

“The seventh album from Oregon doom metal sky-gazers, YOB … makes perfect bedfellows of volume and beauty, pain and transcendence.” – Rolling Stone

“Mike Scheidt’s songwriting has never been stronger or more dynamic… a masterful return to form by an American doom powerhouse.” – Decibel

“Clearing The Path To Ascend is YOB at their most frenzied (‘Nothing To Win’) as well as their gentlest (‘Marrow’), but taken as whole, its four songs feel like the seasons or the elements: powerful, eternal, wondrous, and bigger than all of us.” – Stereogum

“An absolute monument of musicianship, songcraft, and raw emotion…” — Free Williamsburg

“All dreams must end-but by extension, so must all nightmares. On Clearing The Path To Ascend, YOB has beautifully, brutally conjured a bit of both.” – The A.V. Club

SCOTT KELLY And STEVE VON TILL To Complete The NEUROSIS Experience With Solo Performances At Roadburn 2016

Following recent announcements of NEUROSIS celebrating their 30th anniversary with several live sets in early 2016, including Roadburn Festival, both STEVE VON TILL and SCOTT KELLY have also just confirmed a special night of solo performances at this year’s Roadburn as well.

NEUROSIS is so much more than a band. At times, they seem to be at the heart of a sentient organism, fully functioning all by itself, with the activities of their members and of the entire Neurot family constituting the remaining organs and limbs of this fascinating creature. None of those activities are more deeply connected and wrapped around that ever-beating heart than the solo careers of guitarists/vocalists SCOTT KELLY and STEVE VON TILL themselves. Therefore, it is but natural that the NEUROSIS 30th anniversary celebrations that will take place at Roadburn will also include a typically intimate and profoundly touching solo performance by each of the two musicians.

SCOTT KELLY and STEVE VON TILL will therefore complete the weekend-long NEUROSIS anniversary experience with both performances taking place at the Het Patronaat on Friday, April 15th. Each of them will be a life unto itself that must not be missed.

4/17/2016 013 - Tilburg, NL

_______________________________________

Like NEUROSIS themselves, and most of their related other projects, it is not the first time Roadburners will have the immense honor and pleasure to witness these two men alone on a stage pouring their souls out, much more vulnerable and naked than usual, displaying their tremendous courage. Both of them performed solo on the European version of their Beyond The Pale event which enriched the 2009 edition beyond our wildest dreams, and SCOTT KELLY had also played the year before, marking the release of his harrowing second album, The Wake. In these last few years, however, much has happened in artistic terms that will make these concerts an equally fascinating, yet decisively different endeavor. Although he had already released two solo records when he first stepped on his own on the Roadburn stage, the bleakly atmospheric Spirit Bound Flesh and the aforementioned starkly minimalist The Wake, he has since been particularly active as a stage performer outside Neurosis, touring Europe and the United States several times, and often in very good company. The much-praised The Forgiven Ghost In Me album, released in 2012 under the moniker SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME, highlighted the collaborative potential of his solo work, and achieving a rare balance between the intimacy of a solo work and the possibilities afforded by a band effort. Since then, he has frequently played accompanied by THE ROAD HOME, which currently consists of the like-minded cohorts that are fellow NEUROSIS bandmate NOAH LANDIS and "Denver Sound" legend Jay Munly. He has also participated in a few split releases, as well as contributing three songs to the first volume of the Songs Of Townes Van Zandt collection. It is the sum of all these experiences that we will witness at Roadburn when Scott sits down, quietly, with his guitar, and we bet there won't be a dry eye in the room when he bows out at the end.

STEVE VON TILL made us wait a little while for the follow up to his superb 2009 album, A Grave Is A Grim Horse, only giving us three songs on that same Songs Of Townes Van Zandt collection in the meantime to stave off the hunger, but every second of wait was worth it when we finally got to hear A Life Unto Itself. Right now, it still resonates deeply within us as much as it did when it was released last May, if not more so – its sparse and starkly elegant mixture of Americana, ancient folk music and psychedelia constantly leaving us pleasantly lost in some figurative deep dark wood. It has the sobriety, the earthy mysticism, the emotional evocative power and same spiritual connection to nature and to forgotten, ancient times his two first albums did, As The Crow Flies from 2000 and If I Should Fall To The Field from 2002, but it's also brimming with surprising electric subtleties which were first explored on A Grave Is A Grim Horse. If we add to this the fact that, alongside his solo work under his own name, STEVE VON TILL also maintains activity as HARVESTMAN, his home-recorded, psychedelic improvised project which he has released three amazing, mind-altering records with (one of them, Trinity, a very appropriate soundtrack to an Italian horror film), and from which he often performs a few pieces during his solo shows, we can expect a varied, dynamic performance, where the flow of continuity is assured by the man’s unmistakable vocal and guitar personality.

CORRECTIONS HOUSE Shares "Superglued Tooth" From New Studio Album Via An Exclusive North American Premiere At MXDWN.com; Know How To Carry A Whip Release Day Nears

From their deviant and soon-to-be-released second LP, Know How To Carry A Whip, today the miscreants in CORRECTIONS HOUSE reveal second track, "Superglued Tooth" via an exclusive North American premiere with MXDWN.com. Combining oppressive vocal bile with sadist electronics, the track smudges emergency measures of dystopian melody across distinctly punchy machinedrums in a manner that verges on deranged, bristling with kinetic energy and harking to the most outrageous aspects of the members' collective discography.

UFOMAMMUT: Currently On Tour In Europe In Support Of Ecate LP

Italy’s psychedelic doom masters, UFOMAMMUT, are currently touring across Europe in support of their latest album Ecate. On the road for the whole month of October, the band has already visited France and is currently in the UK this week on their way to The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Poland, Austria and more. Two concerts in their home country have also been booked for December, with more shows to be announced soon.

This tour comes on the back of a great year for UFOMAMMUT. Following Ecate‘s Spring release, which was delivered by Neurosis’ Neurot Recordings, in conjunction with the band’s own Supernatural Cat Records, the band toured Europe which included appearances at both of this year’s Desertfest events in London and Berlin. Not to be stopped, the band then embarked on their first North American tour which saw their debut at Maryland Deathfest among several dozen other performances on the month-long trek.

The majestic and pummeling trio is known to put on a mind-bending live show, with their skilled interlacing of heavy textures, hypnotic tones and striking visual imagery. Such elements build upon each other, until they forge an all-consuming universe for the listener to lose themselves in. Ecate truly showcases UFOMAMMUT’s mesmerizing ability to do this on record, and even more so than ever on stage.

In North America orders for Ecate and other UFOMAMMUT titles are available via the Neurot Recordings store and or Earsplit Distro -- including the import version of the LP -- and internationally click to Supernatural Cat’s store.

NEUROSIS: Tickets For 30th Anniversary Shows At Roadburn Festival 2016 Go On Sale This Friday, October 2nd

Tickets for the two sets NEUROSIS will perform at Roadburn Festival 2016 as part of their 30th anniversary events will go on sale this Friday, October 2nd.

Passing their thirty-year mark this Winter, NEUROSIS will celebrate this milestone with two stateside performances onMarch 4th and 5th at the Regency Ballroom, and then two more sets on April 16th and 17th headlining the massive Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, The Netherlands, joined by labelmates Amenra and Dark Buddha Rising among others. At these four very special performances, the band will deliver material spanning their entire recorded lineage, from 1987’s Pain Of Mind through 2012’s Honor Found In Decay, with varied set lists at each event. These sets will span the band’s entire career, showcasing Neurosis’ comprehensive evolution from their primitive beginnings to the seminal, epic outfit they are today, as the band’s ever evolving, sonic palette has become a template for underground music over the last three decades, and resists genre classification.

Tickets for the 21st edition of Roadburn Festival, set for April 14th - 17th, 2016, will go on sale this Friday, October 2nd, 2015. The majority of Roadburners live outside The Netherlands, which is why ticket pre-sales will start at 21:00 CET(20:00 UK time | 22:00 Finland, Greece | 1:00pm East Coast USA | 10:00am West Coast USA).

Additionally, Grace, the 1999 TRIBES OF NEUROT companion piece to Times Of Grace, also saw a deluxe reissue, its first time ever on vinyl. Each reissue contains reinterpretations of the original iconic artwork with heavy duty “tip-on” jackets and are available in a variety of limited edition exclusive colors and all including full album download codes.
